I figured it’s time to bring my family’s old photos into the digital age by scanning them in. Of course, being a megalomaniac I started with pics of myself. Some of the pics make me laugh out loud every time I see them and others merely make me shake my head in bafflement.
anyway, enjoy.
decidí traer a las fotos familiares a la edad digital, escaneandolas a mi compu. claro, siendo un megalomaníaco, empecé con fotos mias! algunas me hacen reír cada ves que las veo y otras nada más me averguenzan.

profes, this made me smile so much! you look [almost] the exact same. if i were alive in those ancient days, i would’ve tried to be your best friend.
so i’m student-teaching 3rd grade and trying to bond with my students on a spanish level. one girl constantly talks about her favorite telenovela, “cuidado con el ángel,” which i just googled and it’s this totally inappropriate show.
escandalo!!
Wow!
Do you know what year/how old we are in the picture of you and I in San Rafael.
Endless summers indeed….man oh man.
Gotta love that pool, Granny’s ginger snap cookies, the girls dorm, the boys dorm, deer creeping around the edges of the property, the weird sculpture thingerbob up front.
I always felt like such a temporary millionaire when I visited there in the summers.
ah good times.
marjan! great to hear from you and even better to know that you are teaching! It’s amazing what some parents will let their children see/do/say…I’m sure the show is as inappropriate and godawful as the 1500 other such telenovelas I’ve come across in south america…sigh. take care and good luck!
eric…can you believe those times in san rafael? it was absolute paradise, man…and I’d TOTALLY forgotten about the ginger snaps! i also remember grannies daisy bed cover, the parquet floors, the bumper pool table, that german cook, the horse statue/mobile, the sauna, the sundial (which is now in golden gate park), and a thousand other little snippets of those eucalyptus infused summer days. hey, you going to peggy’s 80th next week?? hope so. I’ll be there.
Lydia and the Lydia bell. Hank and his wheelbarrow. Collier Cook, the kid nextdoor with the swingset. Image # 4 was on Easter… my skinny legs in the background. Thanks for the memories, Ian & Eric.
Hey bud! Ha sido un rato muy largo. Let’ s va lanzamiento algunos cohetes.
