i feel like i’m meant for something.
What a line!!
We’re all meant for something; that’s undeniable.
Some of us are meant for the grave.
Some for hell
Some for nirvana
Some fore purgatory
Some for limbo
Some for heaven
Some for B&Bs
Some of us are meant for mundanity
Some of us for greatness
Some of us for spelling championships
Some of us for quiet desperation
Some of us for contentment
Some of us for mediocrity
And some for mendacity
Some for resentment
some of us are meat (no typo) for recognition
and some of us are meant for decommission
Expulsion
Rejection
Revulsion
Revision
Fiction
Some of us are meant for obscurity
or sudden visuality
Some of us are meant for history and science and philosophy,
and degradation and promotion,
and education
and corruption
and sedition
and perdition
and furthermore
and uh, what?
And some of us are meant for exactly what we were meant for…
Nothing more, nothing less.
Just do your best.
hi profe– it’s great to see you’re writing again. your ‘physics of bus vs. bike’ post had me laughing out loud from incredulity.. although i’m sure it wasn’t a laughing matter at the time :/ crazy drivers, and i thought lima was bad! take care and enjoy b.a., thanks again for the wonderful works of words you put out there, they are always inspiring to read.
Ian! increíble tu blog. Estuve leyendo algunas cosas en el laburo y me colgue media hora. I’m not sure if I should write this in english or spanish jaja(lol). Geniales tus historias de buenos aires en bicicleta, tus amigos primermundistas no lo deben poder creer. Nos vemos en la bombería, saludos.
i like your thoughts here. i wondered yesterday as i watched a turkey go in a grinder behind sarah palin during an interview, “what if i had been that turkey in a past life, and what was i supposed to get out of THAT?” (which is to say, am i getting THIS?)
