videos are here! han llegado los videos!

well, I’ve finally gotten a few videos together to post on the site, they’ll be categorized under the original title of “videos” from here on out.  I’m also going to bring back some of the vids that used to be on the old site.  I’m sorry about the quality of the images, but it’s in the interest of saving server space.

Bueno, por fin he puesto algunos videos en la página, estarán archivados bajo la categoría “videos” (sí, muy original el nombre).  Además voy a poner algunos videos que se encontraban en mi vieja página.  Por favor, disculpa la baja calidad de las imagenes, son así para no malgastar memoria en mi servidor.

NAIL REMOVAL: Here’s my great friend Daniel getting his big toenail removed due to an infection.  I cringe even thinking about it.  Acá se ve mi gran amigo Daniel perdiendo su querida uña del dedo gordo de su pie debido a una infección.  Me da escalafríos en solo imaginarlo.

ROCK THROW: Hurling rocks down the cliffs of the Cañon del Pato, Perú…their explosion at the bottom isn’t well captured…but use your imagination: a huge rock falling over 500 feet into the abyss.  Tirando piedras por los precipicios del Cañon del Pato, Peru…no se capta bien el video como estallan al fondo, pero es impresionante: una piedra enorme cayendo más de 200 metros al abismo.

MARIEKE CLIMB:  Mari trying to climb up a steep slope of scree.  She got further than me, although I descended more gracefully.  Mari intendando subir una ladera de piedras sueltas.  Llegó más lejos que yo, pero yo bajé con más gracia que ella.

IAN CLIMB:  Here I am attempting the climb.  It’s odd to be running at full speed and not get anywhere…kind of like life, sometimes.  Yo intentando subir la ladera.  Es raro correr a toda velocidad y no avanzar ni un paso…un poco como la vida aveces, no?

FLOATING TO THE STATES: Mari and I walked along a whole bunch of irrigation canals…I finally just had to see if I could float one, unfortunately this one was just a bit to shallow, as in back-scraping shallow.  Mari y yo andabamos al lado de un montón de zanjas de irrigación y decidí averiguar si podía flotar en una.  Desgraciadamente la que elegí era poca profunda…tan poca que me rasguñé la espalda.
